Instruction:a year round player development program on Saturday afternoons from 3 to 4:30 pm, focused on the golf swing and short game, etiquette, tournament play, rules and sportsmanlike conduct. Instruction is provided by local golf professionals with a targeted average junior/instructor ration of 7:1. This program includes free playing opportunities and is designed for juniors who want to play competitively. Limited to 50 juniors, the fee is $100. Short term introductory instruction programs will be run during the summer for those new to golf. Check here in May for details.
Instruction provides substantive exposure to valuable life skills especially respect, hard work, self-discipline and character.

Competitions: organized by age, a minimum of eight events to be played April through October. In 2012 we will also have two adult junior events and a two day 12 and under championship. LCJGA conducts the only tournaments in the area open to under 12s and beginners. Juniors from anywhere in the Sun Country area are welcome to play our events. Typical entry fee is $10 for 9 hole 12 and under events and $15 for 18 hole events for teens. Besides medals for individuals placing in tournaments, juniors playing in at least four events will be eligible to win player of the year and most improved awards. Events will be held on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a $25 registration fee for the competition program.
The 2012 schedule will be posted by the end of March. Our rota in 2012 will be Sonoma Ranch, Red Hawk, Picacho Hills, White Sands and Dos Lagos.
